Sad Day...

Ode to You Orange Squishy Pillow
You have been with me for so long
Through high school and college
Though old and worn
You were always my favorite
And now
you have a hole
small, but leaking tiny beads everywhere
your fate is sealed
it makes me cry
there will never be another you

Count down...

Guess What?

CHRISTMAS IS IN 25 DAYS

Sunday, November 16, 2008

It Was the Last Football Game...

and I was excited for many reasons...
1. it was warm...especially in the sun (keep this in mind)
2. the last cosmo video (would cosmo defeat evil robot cosmo?)
3. the half time show (the part I saw was awesome)
4. the game in general

There was only one thing standing in my way of having a great time... me almost passing out...

So I wasn't feeling that great at the start of half time, even though we were winning, and decided it was probably best if I went home (I didn't want to leave so I was mad at myself)... I got up to leave and well lets say I needed to sit back down... and then I decided I needed to get in the shade pronto before I became friends with the pavement... my friends were obviously concerned (they said I looked a variety of colors from white to green to purple)... I didn't make it very far into the shade before I was forced to sit down... Amanda came and got me some water and Lydia and Jill showed up soon after... They called for someone to take me home... Soon after that Bart and Mackay came and brought me home... I was actually fine by the time I made it home but proceeded to take a 3 hour nap anyway... I called my mom later who then proceeded to slightly freak out but came to the conclusion it was heat exhaustion... the end...

So... yeah... that was my adventure... don't worry I am alive and fine... and now forever indebted to my heroes of the day... thanks friends...

Thanksgiving...

So I was told I can't skip over Thanksgiving in my blog... but I really didn't because it is only a Christmas count down and I will post about the actually Thanksgiving festivities when they come around... but since some people think I am biased... here are the reasons I am excited about Thanksgiving (which is 11 days away):

1. I get to spend almost a whole week with Amy
2. I get to eat awesomely fantastic food
3. I get to watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade
4. It is a day to think of all the things I am thankful for
5. It is almost Amy's birthday
6. It is officially ok to listen/sing Christmas songs
7. The semester is over only 3 short weeks after
8. I get to go home 3 weeks after (for Christmas)
9. No class for 3 days
10. Turkey Gumbo is soon to follow

* I know some of those were Christmas related, but can you really blame me...

Scary...

So...this was my Halloween costume...

Bad Hair Day

Back of my head

Things in my hair

After I took everything out

(Technically this was Saturday night at the ward Halloween party but my costume was the same Friday night but just not as good so no use posting pictures of that)

Anyway...Halloween was pretty awesome this year. I went bowling, dancing, played at the park, had a leaf fight and slid down a steep hill while it was raining...all in all pretty adventuresome and amazing...

Saturday was the Ward Halloween party which was fun...you know watching people and their weird/scary dance moves...then I went to the grocery with my hair like that (see above)...it was great...

The only bad thing was that I didn't get any candy...sad day

Fall

I LOVE this weather

I LOVE having my hair blow around like it has a life of its own

I LOVE the crunchy leaves I step on on my way to work...even if I look a little drunk walking around like a crazy person

I LOVE the rainbow of colored leaves

I LOVE being able to wear jackets and light sweaters (note that I did not say coats or huge sweater)

I LOVE riding in Jill's car with the windows down singing Taylor Swift and David Archuleta

A Reasonable Attempt

I love Guru's (it's a restaurant for those of you who don't know). Well, they have this salad that I just love called Taos Tortilla Salad. I wanted to try and make my own...so here is what it looked like...

My salad was very different from the one I wanted but still good...I will have to make another attempt in the future. But I can say that I at least got the chicken right...if nothing else.

Waffles...On Wednesday!

YES! Waffle Wednesday has returned!

Now the school year has officially begun. The difference this year is that
a) we have the lounge so we aren't squished
b) more waffle irons to use
c) more people to invite

Our ward also does waffle Wednesday so I'm excited for all things that include waffles and Wednesday...and why wouldn't I be?

Here is what happened...

Jill making waffles

Amanda, Kiera and Lydia chatting it up

Kaitlin and syrup...yes we need that much

Yum...Cinderella Waffle

Waffle Wednesday

Don't be jealous...or do be...you know you wish you were there...or maybe you were...hopefully one day you will get to know and understand the awesomeness that is Waffle Wednesday.

My Poor Poor Face...

got really sunburned....

So with the start of school is also the start of football games...and the start of long hours being pelted by the blazing sun and me being stupid and not putting on sunscreen...

Game #1-BYU vs. N. Iowa

Lydia and I at the game

The wave

Go Team Go

Lydia and I after the game (we left early, it was SO HOT)

My face a couple hours later

Game #2- BYU vs. UCLA

Kaitlin and I

Cosmo as Indiana Jones

Kaitlin

We won...by just a little

You can't see it but the sunburn is there

Game #3- BYU vs. Wyoming

Mid action

Trash by our feet (and my purse)

Now that is a sunburn (and it hurt!)

One side of my face is definitely darker than the other

So, in summary, I got sunburned... a lot...and there are still three more home games to attend...yes!

Back in Provo...

So I've moved back to Provo (this actually happened like a month ago but I've been busy). I've got a new home and new roommates (well Kaitlin is not a new roommate but Kami and Emily are). I am really excited about this year and my new ward and everything. Here is what my new home looks like...

My bed (and it's even made)

My body from last year

Living room decorations thanks to Kaitlin's ingeniousness

My green duck

and of course bamboo

I really like my new home despite its many quirks-if you can call them that...and if you want to see more pictures go check out Kaitlin's blog...

Are you going into shock?

That's what the hair dresser asked me when she was cutting my hair...I didn't think I was cutting that much off but she was really worried for me. She was really excited to cut my hair and even took before and after pictures. I was happy I made her day so exciting. I wanted to get my hair cut before I returned to school but I have been going back and forth for a while now whether I should get bangs or not so I had finally decide to just risk it and this is the result...

(I really like it)

A Sad Day

The other day I found out much to my disbelief and horror that the next Harry Potter film has been POSTPONED! It was supposed to come out in November but now it won't come out till JULY! That is so, so far away...too, too far...

Where Did My Teeth Go?

So I got my wisdom teeth removed and these are my thoughts...

I still don't know how to swallow pills and I really think there is something wrong with me or at least my mouth

I did not pass out when they did the IV but that really is one of the weirdest and most uncomfortable feeling in the world

My mom did not get a picture of me after the surgery and I'm really not upset about that at all, like none, not even a little bit

Overall not really as bad or miserable as I expected...but it has only been a few days so lets not jinx it

P.s. I might have lost some of my wisdom along with my teeth

Sibling Rivalry?

This is what happened the last time I went to the zoo...

It looks like they're being nice but really they are swinging their head into each other's necks...ow

I could hear the thud every time they hit each other

This little giraffe didn't really get what was going on...
Maybe I should adopt this fighting method with my siblings...hmmm...

*I was going to post a video of the dual but for some reason it just wouldn't work...darn

Its been so long

Because I have not blogged in so long and there is really nothing new to write about so this going to be kind of random so be prepared...

So I'm pretty excited about the new season of Psych. It starts tonight. It is probably the best TV show ever...

I'm getting my wisdom teeth pulled out next month. Only two problems 1) I can't swallow the pills they gave me and 2) I HATE needles and they want to stick an IV in me...so it should be lots of fun

My wonderful older and wiser sister Amy is coming to visit in a few days (no she did not pay me to say those things) and I'm pretty excited for that. It basically means that we will get to do lots of cool things and act like tourists for like a week... or in other words something will happen that I can blog about.

And I think it's the first time I'm actually pretty excited to go back to school...weird.

UGH!

I hate Firefox who has kicked me off the internet twice while trying to type and causing me to have to restart every time...so now I am giving up...hopefully to try again another day...

Tent-tastic

So Hayley and I were reminiscing about our childhood days and when we would make tents in the den that would take up the entire room so we decided that we would embark on that adventure once again and make a tent.

pre-tent (Scout didn't know what to make of the whole ordeal)

mid-tent

Hayley and her new hair cut

Finished tent

Me in the tent

Hayley and I realized our chances of becoming engineers were slight if not completely impossible. After many failed tent designs, my mom got ladders out the garage and made the tent herself-with our help of course. I sense many more tent adventures in the future...

The Maddness...

one day can cause...

My schedule for Sat. May 24 was as follows:
11:00 ward picnic
1:00 graduation
3:00 graduation party #1
4:00 graduation party #2
7:00 graduation party #3

I mean couldn't someone have chosen another day...any other day.

My mom was making cakes for two of the parties so we stayed up till 4 the night before finishing my cousin's graduation party cake (that was party two). Then I was up around 9:30 to get ready and leave the house for basically the rest of the day. Of course it was like a hundred degrees outside and half the events were outside.... We made the ward picnic for like 40 minutes before we left for graduation then ran as soon it was over to go home and finish the cake for party #3 (which was a surprise party). As a result of the second cake, we didn't make it to party #1. However, we did make it to all other events and then home around 10:00. It was a long day...and then for some reason decided to stay up till three in the morning...superb decision making I know...

cake #2 (I made the little person on top)*

Unfortunately that was really the only picture I have of the whole day...and if you know my family then you know that is the real sign it was a busy day.

* The best part of the cake were the sea creatures in the water at the bottom, you can't see them but just imagine a little octopus, a whale, a turtle, some coral and a bunch of fish...

Taste the Rainbow

No not skittles...snowballs! Yumm! This is one of the best things in life, hands down.

I had a kiwi flavored snowball that was pretty good. Now that I look back on the experience I think I should have gone with lime, both an awesome bright green color, but I think my choice was good. The best part is what happens after you eat the snowball.

Pretty awesome, I know. However it does kind of look like I am diseased. Oh well! Anyway, all I hope for now is more snowball adventures...

(I have nothing to add...how sad)

Mommy 's Taking Us To the Zoo Tomorrow

This past Saturday I went to the zoo...way cool, I know. It was strangely crazy busy and we got there in time to see the elephant show. I had never seen the animals so awake before because usually they look dead or not there at all. I even witnessed this intense battle between two lizards...too bad my camera didn't work fast enough or I would have videoed it. The seals were finally back as well (they had been relocated after Katrina).

The saddest part of the trip was the caterpillar massacre happening right before my eyes. There were dead bodies everywhere! It looked like a war zone and the poor little bugs were losing...badly. Sadly I accidentally killed one myself. There will be a severe lack of butterflies if something is not done soon. Maybe protesting...

cougar fan always

Sign of being back home: I almost died of a heat stroke but it was worth it.
